Rachel Taylor
Experienced Counsellor, Wetherby
I have run a successful private practice from the West and North Yorkshire area for over 15 years. The majority of my clients come through direct recommendations but I also receive a high proportion of referrals from local GP’s and medical insurers, such as BUPA and Aviva. I also regularly do work for employment assistance programmes.
Proven results
My main priority as a counsellor is to work with my clients to assist them to make positive changes in their life. I see extremely positive results in those I work with. As part of my role, I continually track and monitor the success of those I work with and I am pleased to report a consistently high improvement rate.
The bedrock of my success
Forming relationships with my clients that enables them to feel comfortable and secure
This is crucial as it is the foundation that allows people to build the necessary trust to share their problems. I respectfully work with people establishing joint understanding of how they have come to have their uncomfortable feelings. I believe that whatever emotional problem you have, counselling can help you get a greater perspective on things, so that you can live a happier and more fulfilling life.

The types of counselling that I use are Integrative, Person Centred, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Transpersonal and Solution Focused. While these may sound complicated or scary when you understand what they mean it can help alleviate any prior fears. Find out more by visiting the resources page.

Being worried about someone else’s mental health can be stressful. While every situation is different, there are some practical guidelines you can follow for knowing what to say to them. Here’s a link to the counselling directory that offers some further advice if you find yourself in this situation. In my experience however therapy has the best chance of success if the person needing it arranges it.
